Plant fire brigade
Since its foundation in 1916, the Leuna chemical site has been protected by a full-time plant fire department. It is an integral part of InfraLeuna GmbH's service concept and guarantees hazard prevention tailored to the risks faced by companies.
We are happy to advise you on preventive and defensive fire protection and support you in training your employees in this area of responsibility.

Our two fire stations not only ensure rapid arrival at the scene of an emergency. They also contain workshops for a wide range of services such as the maintenance and testing of extinguishing equipment and respiratory protection technology. The plant fire department, occupational safety and plant security work hand in hand to ensure safety at the chemical site around the clock. In addition to preventive measures to avert danger, this also includes the use of modern safety technology and reliable warning systems.
Safety around the clock: the core tasks of the plant fire brigade
The full-time and part-time firefighters are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for operational emergency response.
Their main tasks are:
- Firefighting
- Technical assistance in the event of accidents and the release of hazardous substances
- Rescue of sick and injured persons
- Continuous training as well as basic and advanced training in technology and tactics for hazard elimination
Other services provided by the plant fire department
In addition to the main tasks mentioned above, the plant fire department offers additional services
- Advice on preventive and defensive fire protection
- Training and further training of employees in the following areas
- Respiratory protection
- Small extinguishers (fire extinguishers)
- Testing of

he plant fire department has 15 emergency vehicles, 4 semi-trailers and 2 trailers with extensive special technology at its disposal for emergency response.

TUIS control center: Plant fire department offers quick advice and assistance
As a member of the German Chemical Industry Association, the plant fire department is part of the Transport Accident Information and Assistance System (TUIS) and operates one of 12 TUIS control centers nationwide. With its trained experts and the special technology available, the plant fire department can be deployed in all three levels of assistance.
- Level 1: Advice by telephone
- Level 2: Advice at the scene of the accident
- Level 3: Technical assistance at the scene of an accident

Transport Accident Information and Assistance System (TUIS)

According to § 6 of the Medical Devices Operator Ordinance (MPBetreibV), every healthcare facility with regularly more than 20 employees must ensure that a competent and reliable person with medical, scientific, nursing, pharmaceutical or technical training is appointed as the Medical Device Safety Officer.
