InfraLeuna supports continued operation of DOMO plants in Leuna in the short term
Since the German subsidiaries of DOMO Chemicals filed for insolvency, extensive efforts have been underway to secure the company divisions and preserve Domo's production facilities at the Leuna chemical site.
Since the start of the insolvency proceedings, operations have been running at a reduced level with significant support from InfraLeuna. InfraLeuna's assistance is primarily focused on supporting the insolvency administrator's search for a solution to secure the company's long-term future.
Unfortunately, the owner family has now definitively withdrawn from the group of parties actively seeking a solution. What remains are the state of Saxony-Anhalt and a few large suppliers, in particular InfraLeuna. In a round of negotiations lasting more than seven hours on Monday, the representatives of the above-mentioned parties initially agreed to continue operating the plants. This is mainly intended to prevent damage to the plants and ensure their technical preservation. The agreement was made possible primarily because the state of Saxony-Anhalt, aware of the risks of an uncontrolled shutdown of the plants, played a key role in financing the model that has now been identified.
We are therefore counting on the state representatives to keep their promise in the interests of the employees and the company. For the entire site, it is now crucial to find a partner for this intact and well-positioned facility who can ensure long-term stability and prospects for development.
