InfraLeuna Managing Director Dr. Christof Günther appointed new spokesperson for the CeChemNet chemical network
The network of chemical sites in eastern and central Germany, CeChemNet (Central European Chemical Network), has made a change at the top of its spokesperson function with effect from the autumn meeting in Schwarzheide. Dr. Christof Günther, managing director of InfraLeuna GmbH, was elected as the new spokesperson. This was announced by the network today.
Dr. Günther takes over the position from Patrice Heine, Managing Director of Chemiepark Bitterfeld-Wolfen GmbH.
“Our chemical parks secure jobs, prosperity, and future prospects in central Germany—but this successful model is hanging in the balance,” explained Dr. Günther upon taking office. "High energy prices and excessive bureaucracy are slowing us down. Now more than ever, we at CeChemNet must speak with a clear, united voice. We are making it clear that a strong chemical industry is the foundation for security of supply, innovation, and quality of life in Germany. We now need industrial policy decisions that will make Germany competitive again – otherwise, Germany risks losing its position as a chemical industry hub."
The network continues to grow: With SKW Stickstoffwerke Piesteritz GmbH (Agro-Chemie Park Piesteritz) and ASG Spremberg GmbH (Industriepark Schwarze Pumpe), two further operating companies from the East German chemical parks have joined the network. CeChemNet now comprises eight sites in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Brandenburg with around 35,000 employees.
With Dr. Günther taking office, CeChemNet is focusing on proactive representation of the industry, thereby strengthening the role of East German chemical parks in an increasingly competitive global environment.
