Successful career orientation at the chemical site
Young people find out about future prospects in the chemical and chemical-related professions.
Last Tuesday evening, the Federal Employment Agency and InfraLeuna GmbH organised the 10th Training Night at the chemical site's visitor information centre. In a relaxed atmosphere, numerous young people and their parents were given the opportunity to find out about the wide range of training opportunities at the chemical site.

In short presentations and at various stands, the Federal Employment Agency, the Leuna Training Academy, InfraLeuna GmbH, Novitas BKK and, for the first time, UPM Biochemicals GmbH presented their training programmes and were available to the young visitors for personal discussions on the content and requirements of the respective job profiles.
In 2025, InfraLeuna GmbH alone will once again be offering 15 apprenticeships in nine different professions in addition to the dual study programme in cooperation with Merseburg University of Applied Sciences. From chemical technician or chemical laboratory technician to technical professions such as plant or industrial mechanic, electronics technician for automation technology and logistics professions such as railwayman in operations service - the opportunities are diverse. The application deadline for apprenticeships starting in August 2025 is 15 November 2024.
A special highlight of the evening was the tour of the chemical site at night. The participants were able to take an impressive look at the production facilities and the hustle and bustle of the site after dark, which was a fascinating end to the evening for many.
„It's very important to us to get young people interested in the wide range of careers in the chemical industry at an early stage and to give them their first concrete insights”, explained Claudia Donath, HR Officer at InfraLeuna GmbH. „The positive response shows that there is a great deal of interest in technical and scientific training.”
The event offered the participating companies a platform to provide important information and make numerous new contacts. The Night of Apprenticeships is part of a series of initiatives with which the chemical site promotes young talent and helps to secure skilled labour in the long term.
