InfraLeuna's Environmental Protection/Safety/Quality team donates proceeds from the European Championship betting game to a good cause
The European Football Championship 2024 has not only generated sporting excitement at InfraLeuna, but has also inspired a charitable campaign.
The team from the Environmental Protection/Safety/Quality department organized an internal team betting game for the European Football Championship 2024. The betting pool was to benefit a charitable cause. Two clear winners of the betting game decided to donate the entire amount to the Albert-Schweitzer-Familienwerk Sachsen-Anhalt for the establishment of the Merseburg Children's and Youth Home - a charitable organization that supports families and children in difficult life situations.

“We wanted to use the sporting winnings for a good cause,” says Celina Broßeit, employee in the Environmental Protection/Safety/Quality department. “I'm delighted that so many people took part and that we can make a small contribution to giving young people a little joy and support.” InfraLeuna supports this commitment and has topped up the donation with €120. This meant that a total of €500 could be handed over to the Merseburg children's and youth center. In addition, InfraLeuna made it possible for 20 children and 4 caregivers to attend the annual children's Christmas revue at the cCe Kulturhaus Leuna on December 7.
The symbolic handover of the donation took place during a visit to the children's and youth center on 04.03.2025 by the two representatives of the Environmental Protection/Safety/Quality division of InfraLeuna in Merseburg.
With this campaign, the Environmental Protection/Safety/Quality department is underlining its commitment to the region and the social issues that are close to its heart. The sporting ambition and enjoyment of the European Championships thus become valuable support for families in need.
